An Alberta Regional Summit is in the planning stages and will happen on May 7/8, 2008 at Rocky Mountain College in Calgary, AB. A committee is meeting in November to start the planning process. This Summit will be similar to the National Conference held last June in Winnipeg. This was a collaboration between the Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) and the International Centre for Infectious Diseases (ICID). We had a good representation from many faiths and the goals set out were achieved. We now need to bring it down to a local level to keep the momentum moving forward and to introduce practical applications on how to get started.
We look forward to bringing awareness and education to the faith community in this province. My prayer is to introduce this type of summit across Canada and beyond. Marg |
