Hi, I'm Becca. I'm working on my M.Div in Apologetics and I work for a crisis and pandemic planning, preparedness, and response firm. My desire to unite my day job and my passion for God and his kingdom seems to be a pretty logical progression. What may come as a surprise is that I want to use my skill set to help my lost generation find God, meaning, and purpose. Preparedness forces us to be fiscally more responsible, more giving, and more active in our communities. My generation is the most materialistic, self-involved, overleveraged, hedonistic, relativistic generation of modern times. We are the first generation raised primarily in either single parent or dual income households; raised by our ultra-liberal public schools that can't denounce anything for fear of upsetting someone and being sued; the generation brought up watching not Lassie and the Lone Ranger, but rather Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, and Beavis and Butthead; the generation raised by our latchkey peers. In most cases, our parents were so busy trying to either win the rat race, or just survive, that their faith was put on the back burner, and we were denied foundational knowledge of Christian morality, ethics, etc. We are in serious trouble now; in debt, floundering from relationship to relationship, using intoxicants to quell the loneliness, more concerned with what others think of us and our posessions than with our right standing with God, polluting, corrupting, disrespecting, and injuring ourselves and others. As we march steadily toward end-times, I urge you to consider how we might use pandemic preparedness training as a tool to reach those needing Christ preparedness training.
